William Lake

William Patrick Lake passed peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday April 3, 2021 at Chatham Kent Hospice.  Born in Belle Island, Newfoundland 68 years ago.  Son of Matthew and Madeline Lake.  Husband of Dolores for 33 years.  Father of Robin Erickson (Wade), Kristine Ronson (Derek) and Kimberley Therrien (Kevin).  Grandfather of Karlie Henderson (Sean), Andrew Dawson (Kaitlyn Marchand), Haley Erickson (Keenan Clark) and Kayla Therrien.  Great grandfather of Bennett Henderson.  Brother of Matthew Lake (Mary) and the late Peter Lake.  Uncle of Matthew Jr. Predeceased by sister-in-law Barb.  Bill worked hard throughout his life as a surveyor, draftsman and factory worker.  As a true and proud Newfie, Bill will forever be remembered for his humour, concern for others, a grateful and generous heart and a lively love of playing music and singing.  He sang at all the family occasions and was a member of the Men of Praise Fellowship Church.  He was also a die hard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs -“Go Leafs Go!!”.  As a man Bill leaves a mark on this world as a loving husband and the best father and grandfather. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Chatham Kent Health Alliance and Chatham Kent Hospice for their care of Bill.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Chatham Kent Hospice.  A private celebration of Bill’s life will take place.
