  8. The world has lost a beautiful soul and wonderful woman. What a wonderful example Mrs. Smit has left for all of us to follow – a courageous and caring measure to live up to – as seen in all of her children, some of whom I’ve been privileged to befriend, as well as some of the awesome grandkids and signficant others. My deepest sympathies Marcella on the death of your Mom, and to all of your family too. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. love, geri & Mark

  11. Dear Smit family….
My heart aches for you in the passing of your mom…she was such a big part of my life years ago when I was a single mom and she became the first lady deacon in our church…..the day she was installed I sat in the front pew with a big smile on my face….knowing that finally the church family realized that a lady like your mom was an answered prayer to me!! God had special work for such a special lady! She was truly a blessing to many…and you were blessed to call her “mom”.
