Ronald Franko

After a brief illness, Ronald Alexander Franko, passed peacefully with his daughter by his side on Wednesday July 22, 2020 at 74 years of age. Son of the late Alexander and Ann(Nee Andrusiak) Franko. Ron was born on March 14, 1946 and lived in Chatham his entire life.  He loved to travel and was blessed to have seen so many beautiful parts of the world.  Ron is survived by his daughter Jennifer and her husband Trevor Reneau, his grandchildren Dylan (Beaulieu), Gwendelyn and Corbin. Also survived by his siblings Larry Franko (Lorna), MaryAnn (Arthur Kyryllo) and Gaylord Franko (Jenn). Ron enjoyed over 40 as a Chatham Kent Realtor. He was a key player with the 1970 Kent Concretes which were inducted into the Chatham Kent Sports Hall of Fame for Baseball in 2016.  Ron will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be announced at a later date.

  1. Sister MaryAnn, Art, Danica and Justin remember the good times we’ve had together because of your kind heart and generosity, Ron. Will miss your positive attitude and helping hand throughout all our life challenges. A life passed on too soon but full nonetheless. Hope we meet again.

  3. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ron’s daughter and extended family. Ron and I took the real estate course together many years ago and it was great to have him as a co-realtor friend in our office.

  5. Ron will be missed a lot. I owe him a lot he gave me the strength to run in the Provincial election in 1990 because he himself put his name on the ballot for federal and Provincial election under the NDP. Ron was a person who work endlessly for Chatham kent and never took the spotlight for his hard work. The community has lost a good man and will be missed.   9. I worked with Ron on many election campaigns and will always remember him for his commitment to improving the lives of working people. I’m sure he is in the middle of discussions with the great NDP leaders who have passed on before. Rest in peace Ron

  10. So sorry to hear about Ron’s passing. Remembered he did some wiring for an old AC unit on a Ursuline Ave apartment. We worked together in real estate, a few different companies at that time. I have a lot of respect for him, our thoughts are with the families at this difficult time, Tim Baxter & family.

  15. I just read about Ron’s passing. I remember many a pool party when I was younger with my parents. Ron displayed a lot of faith in me when I was a teenager giving me some important positions on his campaign team along with my father Joe Bachewsky. I am sorry for your loss.   17. Ron Franko was an excellent Real Estate Agent with Royal LePage Peifer Realty but more important he was a kind man who accepted what life presented him with grace,
    You will be sadly missed.

  18. Jennifer – my condolences about your dad. We sat together on the Chatham Kent Big Brother’s Board of Directors. Ron was always informative and helpful in our mandate. I saw him not too long ago at the grocery store – he looked well and we had a nice chat. So sorry. May he Rest In Peace.
