PASSIEN. On Monday, November 14th at 8:40am Robert Donald Passien passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London surrounded by his “girls”, as he liked to say. Bob’s wife of nearly 50 years and his high school sweetheart Patti, his daughters Cari and Jennifer and his sister Wendy Sams. Born December 4, 1947, Bob was the son of Don and Poppy Passien. After spending the last 5 years in weekly dialysis, it was a surprise diagnosis of lung and bone cancer less than 2 weeks ago that took him from us so quickly. In recent years our family circle had gotten smaller and smaller, but Papa will definitely be missed by his 3 grandsons William, Harrison and Maddox, as well as his son-in-law Nick Hudson, all of England. Uncle Bob will also be missed by his niece Stephanie, her husband Jeff Furler and their girls Jessica and MacKenzie. Also, nephew Jeff Sams and his wife Kristen and their girls Hadley and Isla of Dundas. Bob thought of himself as lucky to have had a lengthy career as a long haul truck driver. He loved the freedom and adventure of the road, the places he visited and the people he met along the way. One of his famous expressions was, “I’ve backed up more miles than you will ever drive ahead.” Bob made friends easily and loved to talk about almost anything. Bobs fur babies Charlie and Murphy are going to miss being fed at the table every night and will likely be found curled up on his bed in the coming weeks. Thank you to all the Drs and Nurses who have helped care for Bob over the last several years, he couldn’t thank you all enough. Also, many thanks to all the friends and family who called, visited and emailed.
It was Bob’s wish to be cremated and not to have a funeral service, as he wanted people to remember him in happier times. In lieu of flowers or cards, donations to the new animal shelter would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences are welcome at www.lifetransitions.ca
