Richard Matak

Richard Peter Matak -Feb 20, 1939 -Sept  1, 2018
It’s with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of the most wonderful Grandfather, Father and Husband. He had a long hard battle with cancer and was able to have his precious little family around him at home.  He was an avid member of the Chatham Jaycees, the Royal Canadian Legion branch 642, and volunteered for the Special Olympics . He is survived by his wife Myrna(Henderson) of 52 years, daughter Michelle, husband David granddaughters Fiona and Lyla, son Michael and wife Elly.  His brothers Joe, Don, Frank, his sister Fran and many nieces and nephew.
He was dearly loved and cherished by in laws Linda and late partner Bob, Larraine and partner Rand.  He had too many friends, neighbours and acquaintances to mention.  Always having a chat with those he met along his path, either at work in passing or at the polka dances. We are all going to miss him immensely.
Richard was a modest man and only wanted to be cremated, with no funeral service.
We know you are laughing and dancing where ever you are, until we meet again.
A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
