Paul Bechard

Paul Raymond Bechard, age 66, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 16, 2021.

Paul was born February 11, 1955 to Jeannette (nee Maure) and the late Raymond Bechard. Paul is survived by his loving wife Becky, his children Joseph Bechard and Amanda Perini (Dan) and the apples of his eye, his cherished granddaughters Abigail, Claire & Olivia Perini.

Paul grew up in a large family in Pain Court. He often spoke of the fun he had as a child playing on his grandparents’ farm. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Tom (Anne-Marie), Bob (Carrie), his sisters Annette Lambe (Jack), Diane Gignac (late Alphonse), Sue Demers (Dan), Janice Meyerink (Dan) and Aline King (John), his in-laws Sandy Shuian (Gary) and Marylou Dugas (Andre) as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, colleagues and clients.

Paul is predeceased by his brother in law and pal Alphonse Gignac and his nephew Jeffrey Blommers.

Paul was the proud owner and operator of Dr. Duct Inc. for over 30 years which is why many of his friends affectionately referred to him as “Doc”.  He was a lifelong member of the Kent Club where he met so many of his dearest friends. If you’ve ever eaten a Perch Dinner at the Kent Club, chances are, it was prepared with love by Paul.

Paul was an avid camper and spent many summers towing the fifth wheel to new places with old friends and vice versa. He cherished the moments spent golfing with his son Joe and his friends, fishing, cooking and baking for his “girls”.

He was a stoic man. Often quiet and always gentle, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, cracking jokes and sipping Remy.

Many thanks for the extraordinary care provided by his team of Doctors, home care workers and nurses. Special thanks to Kelly at CKHA who guided his family through his final moments with grace and compassion.

Cremation has taken place; the details regarding the Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

At the request of his family, donations in memory of Paul can be made to New Beginnings ABI & Stroke Recovery Association http://newbeginnings-cksl.com/donate/ or a charity of your choice.

In the words of the great “Doc” himself, “It’s been a good ride!”

  5. Becky, Joe, Mandy (Dan), grandgirls & all the extended Bechard Family,

I can’t even begin to explain how much I will miss the Doctor. He has been a great friend and mentor for two plus decades. I will miss our many experiences in the kitchen cooking at the club or elsewhere, you taught me sooo much. I will miss the random texts, chats and visits. Kelly and I laugh so often at the many Friday and or Saturday nights we all spent at the Cow Palace. (Great people watching). He cared and loved his wife, kids and grandgirls more than anything. Take Care in the coming days and weeks, have on OV or a nip of Remy. Doc until he meet again my friend, I know you will be looking down upon on us with that smirk and grin.

  99. I did not know Paul personally, just through his Dr. Duct business. I am very sad to hear of this news. Of all of the service people to ever come to my house… he was definitely the friendliest and most memorable! He always chatted to me about his grand daughters and family. He seemed like such a proud Grandpa and father. He was such an honest man too… even telling me once that my ducts in our new house were too clean and I didn’t need his service just yet. I really appreciated his kindness. My deepest sympathies to his family. I’m so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man.
