  10. Shae, Danielle, Shirley, Barb, Betty& Murray,
I came to Chatham to hopefully play hockey For the Maroons. I was fortunate to make the team and was billeted with Pat & Bill. What a fantastic placement for me. I stayed in my room for a few days until Pat told me to come and be with them. I was treated as one of the family! I went to family get togethers, social gatherings they attended and Pat introduced me to the stove! Thus started my cooking lessons. We played cribbage many nights, the loser paying for our late night snacks from Jay’s Big Daddy’s drive-in. Visiting Pat at her hair salon she put me to work washing some ladies hair!! They took us to Sunday afternoon bowling which became a team good luck ritual before every home game.
We had many laughs, fun times and a couple Boxing Day parties!!
A day does not go by that I haven’t thought of those days. It always brings a smile to my face.
Pat was a special lady and mother. She will always be with you. I am sorry for your loss.
