Mark O’Rourke

O’Rourke, Mark Vincent – August 26, 1929 – February 15, 2017.
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Mark on February 15, 2017 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, Gisele (Fieret) of 26 years, from Florida. Loving and cherished father of Kevin (Marilyn) of Ottawa, Brian (Donna) of Newmarket, (Corky) Christopher (Tammy) of Kitchener, sons with his late wife Gloria (Kahle) of Wallaceburg. He has one surviving brother Dan from Montreal. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Jimmy, Gloria Lyn (Michael), Andrew (Jolene), Bradley (Sigalit), Connor, Sydney, Hunter, Shane and Brandon (Wiley). Two great-grandchildren, Penny and Oliver and many nieces & nephews. He was the son of Edward & Blanche (Whitesel) of Chatham and predeceased by brothers: Jim, Jack, Larry and sisters: Carmen (Wellwood), Patricia (Roesch) and Pauline (Jenner). A retiree of Uniroyal-Goodrich with 30 years of service, Mark enjoyed his passions of fishing and gardening whether he was in his winter life in Florida or summers on Erie shore or Port Severn. A very special thank you to the staff at Riverview Gardens in Chatham for their care of “Hunny” Mark. You were special angels who assisted our family during the most difficult of times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mark to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent and cherished memories may be shared with the family at: At Mark’s request cremation has taken place. Prayers and Memorial service will be held at Gregory Drive Church Alliance, 255 Gregory Drive West in Chatham at 2pm on February 26, 2017. A private family interment service will follow at a future date, in Kitchener.
