Lola Jean Jillson

Lola Jean Jillson (Ewing) passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Alliance, Sarnia with her family by her side on Sunday, July 19, 2020 in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late Thomas and Vera (Lewis) Ewing. Wife of the late Jack Jillson (1995). Mother of Tim Jillson (Sherrie), Chris Jillson (Andrea Sommise), Marnie Coene (Willie), John, Leah Sheeler (Dave Stankevich), Tony (Anna). Grandmother of Gail Jillson (George), Dan Jillson (Lisa), Lindsay Jillson (Josh), Graham Jillson, Greg Jillson, Chad Coene (Carrie), Geoff Coene (Mary Theresa), Chris Coene (Stacey), Jill Coene Ruth (Michael), Terilynn Ventimiglia (Sam), Scott Jillson (Carolyn), Amanda Jillson (James), Brad Charlebois (Shawn), James Sheeler (Cassandra)  predeceased by April Jillson (2007). Great grandmother of Hunter, Ethan, Brandon, Sierra, Aaron, Elle, Lucas, Felix, Ariella, Maya, Nolan, Maren, Maeve, Jordon, Shea, Chloe, Harley, Logan, Jacob. Great great grandmother of Elliot. Sister of Brother, Harold Ewing (Rosemary), sister, Velma Forbes (Hugh),  predeceased by brother, Lloyd Ewing and sister, Leona Bernard, Also survived by sister-in-law, Esther Jillson (the late Peter Jillson), brother-in-law, Norm Fields (the late Dorothy Fields) and predeceased by brother and sister-in-law, Bert and Pauline Branton. Also missed by niece, Brenda VanderKley as well as many other nieces and nephews. Lola lived most of her life in Port Lambton and was proud to have been the “cafeteria manager” for many years at Wallaceburg District Secondary School. After retirement from WDSS she moved to Sarnia and became the “cafeteria manager” at the newly opened St. Christopher’s Secondary School.  She truly enjoyed working with high school students of all ages. A private funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton with interment to follow at  Sacred Heart Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Palliative Care – Bluewater Health Alliance, Sarnia site; Sacred Heart Food Bank.

    Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your incredible Mother. I remember her zest for life when she came to St. Christopher’s to manage the new cafeteria services. She had a wonderful way with young people and certainly her family was blessed to have such an incredible, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. The memories she has made with family and friends will keep her close always. Keeping all of you in our prayers and thoughts.
