Larry Romanick

ROMANICK: Larry James. In his 71st year, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday March 28th at the Chatham Hospice. Son of the late Nick and Dorothy Romanick. He will be forever loved, missed and cherished by his wife Merelyn of 47 years.  Survived by his brother  Gord & Laura Romanick, sister  Kim & the late Kirk Webber, Linda & the late Peter Romanick.  Loving father of Greg & Karen Romanick, Brian & Avril Romanick, and Barbara & John Alban-Dobson.  Loving papa to Kendra, Colton, Teryn, Rylan & Bradyn. Grandpuppy to Jake Dobson. Predeceased by his brother Kenneth. Larry will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Larry was  a very passionate and competitive  bridge player. He also enjoyed  gardening, spending time with friends and having a cold one . A heartfelt thank you to the PUC nurses at CKHA and the wonderful care at the Chatham Hospice. And a very special thank you to Dr Don Hasting for his care and assistance in helping us to understand the difficult decisions as to Larry’s care. He showed such patience and compassion in helping  our children and grandchildren to be with their papa to the final quiet slip into sleep. Visiting hours Friday March 31st at Our Saviours Evangelical Lutheran Church, 445 McNaughton Ave West from  7 to 9 PM . Family and friends can gather at the Church Saturday April 1 at 10am, an 11 am  memorial service will follow with luncheon at 12 pm in the Church hall. All are welcome to join the family after at the Blazing Bbq on St Clair St.. Family would appreciate donations to the Chatham Hospice, or Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Online condolences are welcome at www.lifetransitions.ca

  3. From all of us at McAllister Courier. What a wonderful man and couple. We had the pleasure of having Larry with us but not nearly long enough. He will be deeply missed.
