Valera Kathleen Brown “Kaye”

Valera Kathleen Brown (Kaye) – 1943-2019

Surrounded by her loving family, Kaye passed away on December 15th 2019 at the Sunparlour home for Seniors in Leamington ON.  Kaye is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Craig Brown. Loving mother to Tracy Hunter (Rob), and Mark Blanshard, and step-mother to Lisa MacIsaac (Mark) and Christopher Brown.  She was very proud of her 3 grandchildren, Crystal Barnett (Kyle), Caitlin and Blake MacIsaac, along with 3 great grandchildren, MacKenzie McIntyre, Keegan and Rowan Barnett. Kaye was the youngest of four. Predeceased by parents James and Valera Marshall, and sister Donna Souter, brother in law Tom Souter.  Survived by brothers Robert Marshall (Joan) Bill Marshall (Mary Montgomery). A treasured Aunt Kaye to many nieces and nephews. Kaye’s warmth and kindness, was felt by everyone who met her. She loved winters in Florida with Craig and time spent with family. Never without a smile Kaye was one in a million and will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of life is planned for Thursday January 2nd 2020, at Millcroft GCC 2155 Country Club Dr. Burlington from 2pm-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society in Kaye’s memory.

  1. Dear Craig; Our condolences on Kaye’s passing. We remember our visits while in Florida with fond memories.
    The time we spent with you and Kaye on the golf course both here and in Florida will be memories that we will cherish.

  2. Dear Craig. We are so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful team you two made. We loved the Sunday morning games you organized for us snowbirds at Lakeside in Florida. The variety of games plus players we met made our time very enjoyable. Extra games at other courses plus dinners away were also fun to participate in. Thanks so much for doing this.   6. I am a cousin of Kaye through our Griffin grandparents my grandfather Orley Griffin was a brother to her grandmother Ethel Pickett.
    I met Kaye when she used to drive her mother Valera to the family picnic in Smithville, Ontario.

    I just want to express my deepest sympathy to the family. I am not sure they would know me, but I saw the obituary in the newspaper and just wanted you to convey my thoughts & prayers to all the family.

  7. We were shocked to learn of Kaye’s death. We imagined you two were golfing in Beverly Hills as per usual– we had good times there and also at Blenheim and Flamborough Hills. You two organized fun golf tournaments and were the social couple extrordinaire!! Wonderful host and hostess and ever so welcoming– we shall miss Kaye’s hearty laugh and happy smile.
