  4. When I just read about John’s passing in the newspaper it made me think of the good times I had working with John and a whole gang of us at Rockwell in the 70’s. We were all in our early to mid 20’s, and LOVED to party. We even partied at work sometimes and I remember I was about to run across the railway tracks on St. George Street one particular night when a strong hand grabbed me by the collar and pulled me back, hard. At that moment a locomotive went by and I’m sure it would have caught me flush in the middle of it. I said “John, you just saved my life!” He just chuckled and said “Be more careful when crossing the tracks.” And off we went to the Royal. Yep, the prime of life for us all. I’d see John at Slow Pitch tournaments now and again. Always ready to chat about this and that. Good natured guy. He’ll be missed. A shout out to Gary Rolls. Been a long time since our paths crossed. Hope all is well.
