Jan “John” DeJong passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the age of 77. John was married to his love, Sherry, for over 50 years. The life they lived together was filled with laughter, love and beautiful memories.
John will be missed by his sisters, Ann Okkema of Guelph, Siska Plat, Helen Brouwer, Margaret (John) Rumble, and brothers, William (Margie) of Woodstock, George (Margaret) of Brockville and Al (Jackie) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His family-in-law will also miss John. Doreen Keenan, Gary McDonald (Monica) of Fergus, Marilyn McDonald, Linda (Dave) Reaume of Erieau, Betty McDonald, Susan (Michael) Tumak and Lee (Brandy) McDonald. His is survived by many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Shirley DeJong and brothers-in-law Orville Okkema, Peter Plat, Harry Brouwer and Dennis McDonald.
Donations may be made in John’s name to the CK Hospice, Chatham Kent Health Alliance or St. Andrew’s United Church.
