James Robert Sales

James Robert Sales, a resident of Merlin passed away peacefully Monday, November 26, 2018 at 74 years of age. Son of the late Dent and Nora Sales.  Loving husband of Janice Sales (Labute). Loving father to Kim Surian (Dan) of Alberta, Todd Sales (April) of Chatham, Jennifer Sales and Aaron Sales (Sara) of Chatham-Kent.  Grandfather to Ryley Surian, Andrew Sales, Brittany Rice (Justin), Meagan Sales, Ben Sales, Zachary Sales, Hannah Sales, Sam Sales, Max Sales, Andrea Sales, Charlotte Sales and  Jackson Sales.  Great grandfather of Alexia Sales, Violet Rice, Felix Rice and Lincoln Sales. Loving brother to Dan Sales and the late Tom Sales of Merlin. Survived by sister-in-law Glenda Sales and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jim was recently celebrated for serving 50 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Merlin Tilbury East Fire Department, for which he took incredible pride. In lieu of flowers a  memorial contribution may be directed to the Chatham Kent Hospice. A gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will take place at a later date.

  3. Jim helped so many friends, neighbours, and total strangers in his 50 years on the Fire Dept. He was a dedicated firefighter and a great guy. I will miss hearing his voice on the Fire radio channels.
