Jack Louwerse

LOUWERSE, Jack, 60, was called to his heavenly home on August 20, 2016 after a short, valiant battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and gave him peace. Jack was born to Marinus and Grada Louwerse (Veldboom), in Chatham, Ontario on December 19, 1955. Jack is survived by his loving wife Terry (Teresa Fennema); his children Gabriel, Cassandra, Chantell, Miranda and Vanessa. He was always involved in his church as either a Cadet leader or an elder. He was employed by Intrepid General Ltd. for 40 years and was dedicated to his employer and co-workers. During his time there he joined the Christian Labour Association and was involved with Local 53 for over 30 years. He will always be remembered for his booming voice, his loud laughter and his willingness to help. Jack was blessed with a large and loving family. He was a loving brother to Bernard (Ann) Louwerse, Margaret Louwerse (Jacques Boudreau), Caroline (Ron) Buis, Grace (Ron) Verbeek, and Marsha (Art) Brouwer. Brother-in-law to Art (Jenny-Lou) Fennema and Dorothy (Jack) DeBruin. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 34 Victoria Avenue (corner of Barthe St. and Victoria Ave.) Chatham, on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave. West, Chatham on Wednesday, August 24. 2016.   1. I am so sorry to hear about Jack’s passing. We were so surprised. I loved playing for the choir that he sang in. He was always a lot of fun and loved to sing! He is singing praises now to our Heavenly Father. We are praying for comfort for you and the children and for many wonderful memories.

    In this time of heart- breaking loss, our tears flow with yours. May you be held close and carried by Jesus, who wept and holds Jack also. He knows all of our sorrows.

    Actually I don’t know what to say, hearing about Jack’s loss. To me/us it came totally unexpected. My only supplication in time of heart breaking loss is to God that He may bless and keep you and your family. And it’s my believe that He will do so, for that’s who He is: a God at hand, always, everwhere and in all circumstances. Take care and receive our cincerest condolonces and love!

  6. My heart is breaking for your family. I will truly miss the fun and always interesting adventures canoeing with the kids, and learning all about the area bridges. There isn’t a bridge that I paddle under that I don’t think of Jack. God bless you all. May your faith help you through this sad time.
