Ian Shular

Between the dot and dash of his life was a gentleman, a wonderful friend, loving step father, step grandfather and special “Poppa Ian” to his great grandson. No matter where he lived he made genuine friends. His ability to offer a helping hand regardless of age, race or faith was his greatest gift. He didn’t just help others, he taught them how to do carpentry-electrical-plumbing, take pride in their accomplishments, grow in personal respect and trust. He was best known for his kindness to others. His ability to see the best in others made him a wonderful “Minister’s Wife” He was compassionate and caring, was well known for his groaner one-liners and puns. He loved of dragons and mythlical stories. He was my companion, my husband, partner in faith and most of all my best friend.

It is with deepest sadness that I inform all my/our friends – and those of our heart family that Ian passed away peacefully from his Stage 4 Cancer. I already miss him with my whole heart but thank our Creator for letting us share 28 beautiful years together. He had requested and I will honour his request that there be NO funeral/memorial service in Ont. He will be cremated and I will take his ashes back to Golden, BC. to be placed with his mother. I wish to convery my deepest gratitude for all the prayers, virtual hugs and supportive love I/we have received.
