  1. I am very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. He was so creative and easy to work with. Mike and I were very grateful to Joe for creating and installing our sign in a rush, but it never looked like a rush job. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed in our community.

    1. Joe and I were in the same grade and same class for many years at St Joseph’s school. He came from a big family as did I so we knew each other siblings. I like many others, are saddened by Joe’s sudden passings. My Mom also fondly remembers Joe, when he did work at her home and she sends her condolences.
May God bless and comfort his family and the entire Zimmer family at this extremely difficult time.
Joe was alot of fun and if my memory serves me correctly, I got the strap at St Joe’s from Sister Patricia when she saw me running in the halls. What she didn’t see was Joey chasing me with a rubber band threatening to shoot me.
It would have been nice to rekindle our friendship and one day, God willing, we will.
Keep an eye on us Joe.
Kate (Cathy) Cabral-McKeand and My Mom, Susan Cabral.

Never in a rush , ALWAYS having time to SPARE to getting to know you or reacquaint.

Late for every occasion !……..but made up for it with a loving personality and a GENEROUS HEART !! and an infectious SMILE.

IMPOSSIBLE, not to be able to forgive this guy for any shortcomings he may have had, because of his disposition and his own forgiving nature .

Always a loyal, trustworthy ,dependable, reliable friend under any circumstance. Quick to share a long winded story and always time to have a rye and coke or (10 ). LOL

This world lost a true man through and through and heaven gained another angel. R.I.P. Joe baby.

  99. We are deeply saddened and full of grief over the loss of a dear friend of ours of over 40 years Joe Zimmer. I’ve known the family since they moved to Delaware around 1975 and Greg met Joe through me in high school and they became fast friends.
My kids to this day always called him Uncle Joe!

Everyone always joked about how Joe Zimmer was always late and that he would be late for his own funeral.
Sadly he was early, about 30 years earlier then we would have liked.
Greg saw him yesterday for the last time.

I will miss him walking up the driveway in his shorts that almost touched where his ankle socks ended. Him and Greg always greeted eachother on the phone and in person with a “Yeeow! “

He was Gregs “go to” person if he needed something he knew if Joe didn’t have it, he would know someone who did. It might not be that day but that was to be expected. Zimmer Time!

Greg never let anyone use his work truck but Joe and he had his own set of keys and would come and get it when needed. They traded favours often.

My sympathies to all of the Zimmer’s.
Joe has hung his last sign and now he’s the one waiting for us for once!

  100. Ashley and Amanda. I am truly sorry for your loss. Sincere condolences to you both and your families. Our thoughts are with you all.
