With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Allan “Royce” Hyatt, on Thursday February 11, 2021 at Chatham Kent Health Alliance. Born in Leamington 79 years ago. Son of the late Glen and Reta Hyatt. Husband of Karri for over 42 years. Father of Cheryl O’Neill (Dan) and Randy Hyatt (Cheryl). Grandfather of Jessica O’Neill, Nathan O’Neill (Maranda) and August Hyatt. Future Great grandfather of Baby O. Brother of Pat Hinz (Gene), Saundra Maynard (Michael), Darlene Buxton (the late Bill) and Charlene Eskritt (the late Ron). Brother in law of Kathy Lucio (Pat), Karla Harris and Kristi Blair (Roger). Survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Harris and sister-in-law Claire Hyatt. Predeceased by brother Blake Hyatt, brothers-in-law Michael and Murray and father-in-law Leroy Harris. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Royce enjoyed his retirement from Pepsi  after 45 years of service. Over his lifetime Royce loved moose and deer hunting, fishing, playing , coaching and supporting so many sports. He was past member of Moose Lodge, Optimist Club and a Life Time member of the Chatham JayCees. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the Chatham Kent Hospice.

One of my fondest memories of Uncle Royce was when he, Russ & LeRoy took me up to the moose hunting cabin on the Spanish river, Northern Ontario… we were totally off grid .. boat ride in and out. Sleeping in a wooden bunk bed, and hearing the loons at 5:30am. I also remember him working on the vending machines in his tailgate lift pickup. The softball tournaments he’s ump.. Haunted Houses on Emma St for the Jaycees..
